Because items are strictly limited, you can easily put yourself into a position where you have to “roll back” to a previous save in order to make progression possible. Every time you die you’ll have to backtrack (sometimes a lot). You’re only allowed to save at distant, designated points. It’s too bad progression is absolutely painful. When you’re not backtracking from a previous save, you’ll find that new tools often breath new life to areas previously explored. A big part of Haydee 2 is discovery and exploration: you’ll have to find out what does what, and leave no stone unturned. Many doors are guarded by colored-keycards, and it’ll take an arsenal of tools to gain access to the remainder of the world. There is a vast map to explore, which must be painstakingly unlocked piece-by-piece. You must count your bullets, and shoot only when absolutely necessary anything less than a headshot is a waste of ammunition. Items are scarce, and many have limited usage. I decided to put the game down - but I am satisfied with the still hours worth of content Haydee has to offer me! GameplayĬollect and manage items as you navigate a maze of puzzles and traps. I never consulted any guides, and at some point I grew weary of running back-and-forth with no results. Generally speaking, I am more interested in modding games than actually playing them - however, I chose to press on and attempt to beat the game. Of the over-twenty hours I spent in-game (before writing this article), about half of them was spent learning Edith. I’m ecstatic to see this game packaged with modding support (in the form of Edith, the companion editor software). Thanks a bunch guys! Haydee 2 has been a wild ride. Exit Edith, boot Haydee 2, and then start a new game.I received a free copy of this game from the developers (after asking nicely).

Search for the “N7_ENG_Diagnostics.edith” file provided by “QuickStartVerX_X_X.zip” \Maps\NSola7\Engineering\N7_ENG_Diagnostics.edithĬlick “File” once again, and then “Compile” (or hit the “F7” key). From the top-left corner of the application, click “File”, then “Open”. I recommend unzipping the contents within “Mods” (thus preserving your core files) :\Steam\steamapps\common\Haydee 2\Modsīoot up Haydee 2 from your Steam Library instead of booting into “Haydee 2”, boot into “Edith”. It doesn’t matter where you unzip “QuickStartVerX_X_X.zip” - however, if you unzip its contents within Haydee 2’s core folder you will overwrite files. However, when modding any game you can’t have too many back ups. :\Steam\steamapps\common\Haydee 2\Mapsįor the purposes of this mod, technically you only need to backup a single file :\Steam\steamapps\common\Haydee 2\Maps\NSola7\Engineering\N7_ENG_Diagnostics.edith I suggest backing up the entire folder, for safekeeping. Backup the contents of Haydee 2’s “Maps” folder.
